Just a few pretty things catching my eye around the web this week…

-I’ve never really made much candy, but this candied ginger recipe is making me want to try!

-I love bows (obviously, I’m a girl), so Jenee’s adorable hair scarf is making me want to copy!

-Interesting flavors always draw my eye when choosing a recipe. A rose cake? Pretty, and unique!

-The Hudson Valley has my heart. I went to college there, and I love taking day trips up to the area in the spring and summer. Plan yours with this awesome guide from Design Sponge!

-Um, have you see the gorgeous new issue of Rue Magazine? Enough said.

-I’m obsessed with this adorable retro outfit. Too cute!

-Spring cleaning is always so refreshing–and my apartment needs it badly. This guide from The Glitter Guide is going to come in handy soon!

Just a few pretty things catching my eye around the web this week…

-As a new-ish apartment renter, I’m obsessed with collecting home decor ideas. For our second year in our apartment, my roomate and I want to make a few fun changes, which is why I went crazy over Eileen’s DIY gold wallpaper this week.

-These honey-soy chicken drumsticks from one of my fave food blogs look ah-ma-zing.

-I’m always looking for fun ways to jazz up my boring cubicle, so this DIY polka dot mouse pad is at the top of my must-try list.

-I love Jacquelyn’s “House Envy” series, but this week’s look into the perfect clean, white space has me dreaming of redesigning.

-This warm mushroom, pear and arugula salad from Lilies, Lattes and Lace is what I wish I was eating for lunch every day this week…instead of sandwiches.

-I totally want to make Emily’s DIY glitter notepads. They’d be perfect to hold blog ideas!

-Elisa did an amazing overhaul on a basic coffee table. It couldn’t have come out more amazing!

-Devil’s food cake s’mores cookies. Enough said.

-Katie’s amazing Valentine’s gift idea for your guy (I’m probably going to buy it for myself, too).

-I love nothing more than getting my girls together–especially if there’s food involved. This Single Ladies Brunch from Design Love Fest is too cute!

-This social media etiquette post over on Design Sponge is a must read. Major don’ts? Negativity, bashing and over hashtag-ing

-Looking to give something sweet this Valentine’s Day? Try these homemade chocolate bars, as seen on The Vault Files.

-As a new-ish blogger, I’m constantly trying to stay fresh, so I loved Lisa’s post this week on creating original content.

-How adorable are Anne’s washi tape stickers? So easy and creative!

-We got Sugarfina products delivered to the office this week (and they were so. yummy.). Even cuter? Their fun giftsets–like this anti-Valentine’s Day one (sweet, even if you are pro-Valentine’s Day!).

Just a few pretty things catching my eye around the web this week…

-Ashley’s gorgeous outfit post. Is the girl working that skirt or what.

-Style Me Pretty released their annual “Best of Weddings” for this year. I’m not even close to the aisle, but I can’t stop looking at all the pretty nuptials.

-I’m unfortunately not making it to Alt Summit, but this list is proving invaluable anyways. So many new bloggers to check out!

-Can we talk about how crazy I am over Hollie‘s home, featured on The Everygirl this week? I pinned practically everything!

-Grace always comes up with killer DIY jewelry pieces, but this Anthro Inspired Tulle Bib Necklace is perfection.

-Jacquelyn always has the most perfect food posts, but this recipe for Pear & Cinnamon Tartlets takes the cake.

-I’m really trying (hard) to keep plants alive these days (I stink.), so Brynn’s adorable roped planters are right up my alley. I love the neon!

“hey everybody–come see how good I look”

TheGlossLifeNewLook hey everybody–come see how good I look

You may have noticed something different today…yep, there’s a new look around here! It’s been a long time in the making, and I have to say–I absolutely love it. I feel like the site has a real feel and direction now–I can’t wait for everything that’s to come on this little space in 2013!

The design genius behind The Glossy Life’s new look is none other than the fantastic Victoria McGinley. Victoria’s blog, vmac+cheese, was one of the first I started reading oh so long ago (if you haven’t already checked it out, you must) and it still remains a daily stop (and swoon) on my blogroll. When I started considering the idea of a re-design back in the summer, Victoria (and her company, Vivaleur) was one of the first talents that came to mind. I was thrilled when the timing fell together and we were able to begin working together in early November. Simply put, Victoria is a dream. She somehow took the hodgepodge of inspiration photos I gave her and cranked out a gorgeous, clean, timeless design. If you’re in the market for a re-design, big or small, absolutely shoot her an e-mail. I loved working together!

Final touches will be put on the site by me this weekend, including a new “About” page, recipe index and sidebar elements. As always, thank you all for your sweet words and support–you make every day in blog world totally worth it!

Guys. I totally have a girl crush on Maria, and I’m so happy to have her up on The Glossy Life today. She’s seriously one of the most fun gals ever–and I haven’t even met her in person yet! You get such a good feel for who she is on her blog, kitchen/closet/heart, and she touches on everything from dating in New York City, to cooking, fashion and life as a journalist (something else we have in common). We have long-standing plans for drinks once Hurricane Sandy leaves town, and I totally feel like I’m waiting to meet my new bestie. I’m pretty sure you’ll feel the same way after reading her blog!

now on bloglovin

Bloglovin is without a doubt the easiest way to get your blog fix. I follow a ton (seriously, a ton. It’s almost embarrassing) of blogs, and having them all in one place on bloglovin makes it so easy to read them every day (and not miss a single post!) I figured it made sense to add my own blog, if for no other reason than it makes me feel official. So there.

pardon the absence

Hello there! My apologies on my (long) absence here on the blog. Turns out, I’m a pretty stinky blogger when I have a lot on my plate. Like what, you might ask? Well…

First off, I had this little thing called college graduation….

pardon the absenceThat was exciting…Also, for those of you who are into weird coincidences, my graduation day also happened to be the day of the “rapture.” How fitting.

Then I had a birthday (22…I feel old and quickly approaching a quarter-life crisis)

pardon the absenceThen I had a mini-reunion with one of my favorite Marist gals in DC (thanks Amanda! You’re really the best tour guide!)

pardon the absenceThen there was a little post-graduation jaunt to South Carolina…

pardon the absenceAnd finally a cause for celebration (more on this later!)

pardon the absenceSo that’s that! Hopefully I can make things a bit more interesting around these parts for you. Here’s to trying!
