There’s just something I can’t resist about braids. I’ve admittedly never been a pro at braiding my own hair, but I did master the trend on my American Girl dolls growing up (that counts, right?).

I can’t help but swoon over all the perfectly piece-y, slightly undone style gracing the runways and fashion spreads this season. My go-to style? The Heidi braid, which I recreated step-by-step a couple of months ago with the help of a friend. I can’t wait to try some of the effortless styles pictured above this summer–and maybe finally (finally) master the fishtail.
