If you’ve ever set foot in Sephora, you probably know the glory that is Benefit’s Benetint Cheek and Lip Stain. Let me tell you, it’s magic in a bottle. It gives the perfect hint of color without the cake-y, matted look that blush can sometimes leave.
Believe it or not, that same believable glow can be recreated with a simple veggie.
While it may sound slightly offbeat (HA offBEET) and weird, the juice from a beet is a very flattering shade of “I-just-completed-a-brisk-run.” I was flabbergasted when someone told me that this was even possible, so of course, I had to share.
To use? Simply slice a beet a thin layer at a time–presumably you can use an entire beet slowly instead of chopping it in half and having it dry out. Dab your fingers on the freshly cut portion and smooth onto cheeks where you normally would blush, building the color until you achieve the desired shade. Store the wrapped remainder of the beet in the fridge, slicing off a new layer when necessary.
It’s not sticky, really doesn’t smell and lasts for-ev-er…You can’t BEET that!
Sorry…I had to.
